7 day natural beauty action plan

Wow. What a great first week of natural beauty solutions month!

So far, we learned how to:

Wait! How do I fit all this stuff into my life?

I can just hear you out there saying, “OK Laura, these things are great, but how am I going to remember to get all of these things done? I have to be practical. I have a job/child/husband/facebook addiction to deal with!” Yup, I hear you. This stuff doesn’t just do itself.

You need a plan.

I mentioned, in yesterday’s post about body brushing, how critical it is to have energy-saving routines in your life. Just like President Obama’s routines surrounding his wardrobe, exercise, and sleep patterns, you want to create automated routines for your beauty habits. This will remove the anxiety and daily decision making that drains your energy surrounding actually getting these things done like clockwork each day.

Putting it all together into a routine

Here is a 1 page summary of how you can accomplish all the activities from week 1 of natural beauty month in one easy routine. You can download the PDF here.

There’s no wrong plan you can make to do any of this stuff. If this 1 page action plan doesn’t float your boat, all that matters is that you spend 5 minutes in total thinking time imagining when and where you will fit each of the habits into your life. Where will you buy the ingredients from? When will you buy them? Which days will you eat salmon? Sardines? Mackerel? Get the thinking out of the way. See yourself doing each thing. Then write it down and stick to your plan for a few days. After a few days, it gets MUCH easier. You’ll feel successful for sticking to your plan, and after a few days you will already see results.

Once you’ve made the decision, and then visualised when and how you’ll do these habits, you’ll free up oodles of energy. You can then use that energy to actually ensure you do the beauty habits every day  instead of anxiously thinking about when you might do them, or why you’re not doing them.

Keeping the end in mind

While beauty is an amazing outcome and you can bask in a feeling of accomplishment that you got your glow on, this is way more than just skin deep. Superfoods expert David Wolfe says it well in the documentary Food Matters:

“The skin a true symbol of our health because it’s the last place to get nutrition. If you can drive all those nutrients all the way through to the skin, then you know it’s gotten everywhere else too. Take vanity as an entryway to health… We can only eat so much in a  day, therefore the idea is, let’s make those foods count. Let’s make those foods beauty foods.”
