Papaya face and body mask for glowing clear skin

Like many people eating a standard-issue diet, I struggled with my skin for many years. Blotchy redness, breakouts, patches of uneven texture, strange bumps under the skin’s surface – you name it, I’ve experienced it, covered it up, stressed over it, and tried hundreds of different drugstore products to try and tame the skin beasts.

So on my radiance journey, I’ve been super thrilled to find so many easy, fast, and really-truly-effective natural beauty solutions that actually deliver stunning, glowing and clear skin.

I love, love, love this easy mask. It turns out that papaya beautifies you in two different ways. The first is when you use it on the inside in the form of a papaya green smoothie for clear skin. The second is when you apply it topically.  If you whiz it up and simply leave it on your skin for about 20 mins you avoid all the nasty chemicals that lurk in most store bought beauty products. As another bonus it’s a real steal making this mask using basic kitchen ingredients.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 organic papaya, seeds removed
  • 1 tsp raw honey
  • 1/2 tsp organic lemon juice
Instructions
  1. Just put everything into a blender and blend for 30 seconds until you have a super smooth gorgeous orange-hued paste
  2. Slather the mask all over your face (or body), avoiding the eye area. Rub it into your skin well – like you would with a skin cream
  3. Let the mask dry for about 15-20 minutes and then rinse off. When it starts to tingle a bit, you know it’s time to rinse

Main benefits of using this natural mask

  1. Research on papaya shows that it sloughs away dead skin cells, acting as a natural exfoliator to reveal brighter new skin below. Many skincare products use chemical exfoliants like alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) to do the same thing that the papain enzyme from papaya does.]
  2. Raw honey is a powerful natural beauty ingredient. It has been the subject of extensive research and has a 2000 year history as an antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory agent. Beauty-wise, it has brightening properties, can gently exfoliate the skin, stimulates circulation, and is a humectant which means that it binds water to the skin to give a soft glowing complexion. Honey also promotes acne healing by killing harmful bacteria and reducing scar formation.
  3. Lemons are another multi-use beauty tool. They act as a natural skin brightener to gradually fade dark spots and even out your skin tone. The citric acid contained in lemons has also been shown to work wonders for acne patients via antibacterial and anti-fungal properties.

I love things that are easy to work into my schedule, natural, research-based, and effective. This mask gives your skin an actual glow. Not many beauty products can actually do that! So I am excited to share this beauty secret with you and l hope you give it a try sometime this week. Let me know in the comments below how it goes and what other natural beauty treatments you love.
